Working with schools
DNAire that will see us to working with schools over an extended period to help them understand the fantastic wildlife found in our rivers and the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) skills that are enabling them to thrive. You can read more about this project here. We are keen to build links with schools and are always happy to do short presentations about our work and our river. Please get in touch with Simon Watts to enquire about availability.
Our partner organisation, Friends’ of Bradford Beck, run education workshops called Miss Connection. Using a specially designed model, Miss Connection is able to demonstrate how everyday practices and water appliances in the home can poison and pollute the environment, especially our rivers and streams. Using props, participation and Power-Point, she shows how this can be easily avoided and shares stickers and leaflets for children to take home to parents. Please get in touch with Irene Lofthouse to make a booking.
