Escape the city in Saltaire

This walk is in Saltaire, Bradford.

In 1850, Titus Salt took his workers out of Bradford for the quiet and clean air of Saltaire. Now, you can follow in their footsteps as you explore this World Heritage site.

Salt’s Mill connected Yorkshire to the rest of the world. A new fish pass is doing the same, as Atlantic salmon swim past on their way from Greenland to Gargrave.

As you walk along riverside paths, look out for herons, kingfishers and, if you’re really lucky, maybe an otter too. Although not all the walk is paved, there are plenty of buggy and wheelchair friendly spaces by the river for all to enjoy.

Easy public transport links.

We hope you enjoyed your walk, we have many others available to download.
