Newlay Bridge 200 year celebration
June 22 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
We’re incredibly proud to be joining Newlay Conservation Society and Newlay and Whitecote Residents Association in wishing happy birthday to Newlay Bridge. This magnificent structure has spanned the River Aire for 200 years and we want to share our plans for the next engineering marvel to grace the river at Newlay.
The construction of a fish pass on the weir at Newlay we will see salmon returning to the River Aire as part of DNAire – Developing the Natural Aire. This partnership project with The Environment Agency will be made possible by the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Find out more on the project website here
Our two Project Officers, Simon and Nick, will be there to chat about our volunteering programme, local walks and to share with you a fantastic model of how fish pass works.
