Support for local groups

We believe in working with others

The Aire Rivers Trust supports the work of locally organised groups which are interested in better water-courses and a better environment for nature and people.

  • We can support local groups by providing:
  • Bank accounts and treasurer services to manage funds.
  • Loans of personal protective equipment.
  • Loans of litter picking equipment.
  • Expert advice.
  • Useful contacts in local authorities and other partner organisations.
  • Support to access funding.

Local groups we support include

St Ives, Harden  Located near Bingley, St Ives Estate is a country park of 500 acres belonging to Bradford Metropolitan District Council.  The Friends of St Ives have an active calendar of events and are sociable and have fun while improving and protecting this old estate. All ages are welcome.

Bradford  The Friends of Bradfords Becks organises clean-ups of the beck and the streams that run into it. They run cultural events such as the ‘Becnic’ with music and food. FoBB monitors and intervenes in pollution incidents. It also sponsors education and arts projects.

Friends of the River Worth The river Worth flows through Keighley.  The Friends of the River Worth is a new group that is starting to improve the River Worth.  Planned events include river clean ups, riverfly monitoring and walks and talks.  You can contact them via their Facebook page or on Twitter via @Phil_SheridanFF
