In partnership with Skipton Health Walks we are delivering river walks in Craven and the Airedale.
This is a challenging rural staged walk rewarding participants with lovely views of the River Aire as it meanders through the West Craven drumlin field. Including a 2 mile leg stretcher route from Gargrave to Coniston Cold along the canal and River Aire. With a 3 mile return loop via Bank Newton to Gargrave.
The first shorter Leg Stretcher route includes one steep hill climb, muddy field walking, climbing several step stiles, and negotiating a very shallow stream.
The Additional Leg Stretcher route includes more muddy field walking, climbing step stiles and 2 further hill climbs.
Participants are advised to wear walking boots, warm and waterproof clothing. Packed lunch and drinks are required, alongside any personal medication needed. The use of walking poles is recommended. Please contact Sam Riley-Gunn before the event if you would like to bring a dog.
Walk starts from Gargrave Church Street bus shelter at 11:15am.
or join us on the 10:45am 580 Craven Connection bus from Skipton bus station.
