In partnership with Skipton Health Walks, we are delivering river walks along the upper river Aire.
This is a bus-to-bus walk down Flasby Beck from Hetton taking in Flasby and Eshton Halls to Gargrave. please note there is no organized return loop to return to the start of this walk.
Walk one is a 2-mile walk down Flasby Beck from Hetton to Flasby. With an option to leave via a car lift to Gargrave bus stop. The second 2.5mile leg then consists of mixed field and road walking to view Eshton Hall. Joining the canal to enter Gargrave.
The first route is mostly downhill across fields and crossing several step and slip stiles. As well as crossing a wide shallow section of standing water. Route 2 has several small climbs with several step stiles, a section of muddy field walking.
The walk starts at Hetton Bus Stop at 12:00am, it is advised to take the 11:30am No.72 Grassington Bus from Skipton Bus station, so walkers can complete the journey by returning to Skipton from Gargrave on the 580 Bus from Settle.
Participants are advised to wear walking boots, warm and waterproof clothing. Packed lunch and drinks are required, alongside any personal medication needed. The use of walking poles is recommended.
