Shipley Glens Great Balsam Bash Work Day 2

June 16, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

Free
Volunteers pulling up balsam plants

Summer 2022 see the trust begin an exciting new project to clear the historic Shipley Glen and the Loadpit Beck of Himalayan Balsam. A non-native plant that is taking over our river banks. Stopping our native plants from growing and leading to our river banks eroding in Winter.

During the months of June and July, we will be working hard to remove Balsam from the Glen. Starting from the top at Eldwick and working our way down to Hirst Weir and Bradford Amateur Rowing Club.

For this workday, we will be meeting in Eldwick and working up and down Eldwick Beck.

The parking and meeting point will be advertised closer to the event.

Please wear boots with steel toe and sole protection (contact Sam with your shoe size if you need to borrow), full arm and leg cover, suitable clothing and bring packed lunch. We provide refreshments, PPE, transport expenses and friendly support.

Please RSVP below if you are a regular volunteer and can come. Call Sam on 01274 061902 if you want more details or help.

We ask new volunteers to register with us first through the website's volunteer section, before booking onto an event.
